Job Overview
Are you a motivated and confident nursing professional looking to advance your career? Life Entabeni Hospital in KZN has an exciting opportunity for a specialized Enrolled Nurse to join our Main Theatre team. You will report directly to Mrs. V. Morris, our Theatre Manager. In this role, you will play a key part in providing high-quality nursing care to our patients, ensuring their safety and comfort during their surgical experiences.
Key Responsibilities
As a specialized Enrolled Nurse, your main responsibilities will include:
- Delivering Quality Patient Care: Work with your team to ensure that all patients receive the best possible care during their time in the theatre.
- Performing Assigned Duties: Carry out tasks assigned by the Unit Manager to support the smooth operation of the theatre.
- Compliance with Standards: Ensure that all nursing activities adhere to the South African Nursing Council (SANC) regulations, relevant laws, and the policies and procedures of Life Healthcare.
- Professional Development: Maintain high professional standards and take charge of your own learning and development.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, sharing information and supporting your colleagues.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation related to theatre admissions and patient outcomes, adhering to our Quality Management System.
- Communication: Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure effective communication.
- Health and Safety: Uphold all health, safety, and infection control standards to protect both patients and staff.
Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Registration: Must be registered with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of cardiac nursing experience and at least 1 year working in a theatre environment as an anesthetic nurse.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential for effective interaction with patients and team members.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts and assist in other departments as needed.
- Ability to Work Under Pressure: You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Customer Orientation: Demonstrate a strong focus on customer service, ensuring patient satisfaction and comfort.
- Energetic and Knowledgeable: A confident and knowledgeable approach to nursing is vital.
