Position Title: Night Quality Coordinator

Introduction

We are excited to announce an opening for the role of Night Quality Coordinator at Life Brenthurst Hospital. This position reports to Nthabiseng Tlhone, the Nursing Standards Manager. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that high-quality patient care is provided throughout the night, in alignment with the hospital’s goals for quality service, growth, and staff wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management

  • Oversee and support night staff to maintain a safe and caring environment for both patients and team members.
  • Assess clinical skills within the team, addressing any issues with the appropriate line manager.
  • Take the lead in quality improvement initiatives, fostering a culture that prioritizes high standards of care.

Operations Management

  • Ensure that nursing staff are appropriately assigned to various tasks and responsibilities.
  • Understand and manage stock levels effectively to meet unit objectives.
  • Handle unexpected events efficiently to make the best use of available resources.
  • Provide clear direction and encouragement to staff, fostering a motivating and productive work atmosphere.

Building Relationships

  • Demonstrate strong leadership to the night staff and management, promoting teamwork and motivation.
  • Engage in meetings with internal and external stakeholders to build meaningful and productive relationships.

Requirements

  • A Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
  • Management experience is preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience as a Registered Nurse (5 to 10 years).
