Introduction
We are excited to announce an opening for the position of Nursing Standards Manager at Life Kingsbury Hospital. This role will report directly to Nurse Manager Thabiso Moleko. We are seeking a dedicated professional who will oversee and enhance our nursing operations and training strategy, ensuring they align with our risk-based standards. You will play a key role in leading a team focused on enabling high-quality care and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
As the Nursing Standards Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- Quality Management:
- Ensure that integrated quality and business process standards are maintained across the hospital.
- Collaborate closely with the Nurse Manager to promote a common understanding of our goals, leading to increased customer satisfaction.
- Complaint Management:
- Accurately interpret and classify complaints according to our complaint management policy.
- Provide constructive feedback on customer complaints to foster improvement.
- Risk and Clinical Management:
- Implement effective risk management strategies to minimize potential issues and develop action plans as necessary.
- Employ best practices in clinical management to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Financial Oversight:
- Manage stock levels and sales costs, looking for opportunities to save costs while maintaining high standards of care.
- Training and Development:
- Oversee all training programs for both learners and qualified nursing staff.
- Actively participate in selecting learners and clinical training specialists to ensure a robust training environment.
- Team Leadership:
- Serve as the second-in-command to the Nurse Manager, assisting in daily operations and decision-making.
- Foster fair and effective people management practices throughout the department.
- Performance Management:
- Set clear performance targets and manage them effectively to ensure the team meets expectations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, enhancing collaboration and support.
- Support for Unit Managers:
- Promote and provide effective support to Unit Managers in achieving their operational goals.
- Market the image of nursing within the hospital, collaborating closely with the medical team to enhance overall patient care.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you should have:
- A Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Previous management experience, such as Process Manager, Unit Manager, or Training Manager.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council.
- Strong leadership skills and sound business understanding.
- Knowledge of the private healthcare sector, including its challenges and key players, would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in using computers.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
