Introduction
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Registered Nurse with high care experience at Life The Glynnwood Hospital. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive and high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients. Your dedication will help achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients, aligning with the strategic goals of our hospital and the larger Life Healthcare group.


Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Patient Care
As a Registered Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that patients receive exceptional care. This includes:

  • Delivering both basic and specialized nursing care tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
  • Maintaining open and ongoing communication with patients and their families about their health status.
  • Administering medications safely and responsibly, following all ethical and legal guidelines.
  • Regularly reviewing and adhering to the hospital’s internal policies and protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Participating in quality management initiatives that align with the unit’s standards.
  • Acting as an advocate for patients by effectively communicating their needs to case management and alerting doctors to any changes in condition.

2. Team Collaboration and Development
To foster a supportive working environment, you will:

  • Engage with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including doctors and support staff.
  • Participate in training sessions that promote your personal and professional development.
  • Ensure that the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team operates within their scope of practice to utilize the right skill set for optimal patient care.

3. Cost Management
Responsible financial management is essential, and you will:

  • Oversee the inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring they are used efficiently according to unit policies.
  • Manage staff leave and hours in line with company policies to maintain operational effectiveness.

4. Infection Control and Safety
Your role will include ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff by:

  • Upholding stringent infection control measures to protect patient health.
  • Contributing to a safe workplace by promptly completing SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) alerts and incident reports.

5. Relationship Building
Maintaining positive relationships is crucial, and you will:

  • Provide in-service training on specific doctor preferences for patient care.
  • Execute doctors’ orders accurately after patient rounds.
  • Assist multidisciplinary team members in their tasks to promote teamwork.

6. Equipment Management
You will ensure that all medical equipment is functioning properly by:

  • Checking equipment daily and reporting any malfunctions to the Unit Manager and Clinical Engineer.
  • Educating and supervising staff and doctors on the correct use of specialized equipment.

7. Record Keeping
Accurate documentation is essential in healthcare. You will be responsible for:

  • Keeping thorough records that meet legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications
To qualify for this role, you must have:

  • A relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Experience in a high-care nursing environment.
  • Strong focus on customer service and teamwork, with a positive and energetic attitude.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a dynamic healthcare setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work according to a shift system and respond to on-call requirements.
