Job Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse specialized in Cardiac High Care at Life Westville Hospital. We are looking for dedicated and skilled nurses to join our team, ensuring that we provide exceptional care to our patients. In this role, you will play a vital part in the smooth operation of our unit and contribute to delivering top-notch nursing care. You will be reporting directly to the Unit Manager, Rita Naidoo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform nursing duties assigned by the Unit Manager, focusing on patient care and unit coordination.
- Deliver high-quality care to patients, aligning with Life Healthcare Policies and Procedures, while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Supervise and guide nursing staff, ensuring they operate within their Scope of Practice.
- Foster positive professional relationships with patients, physicians, and all members of the healthcare team.
- Manage risks effectively by adhering to Health, Safety, and Infection Control guidelines and protocols.
- Participate in managing the unit’s resources effectively, including inventory, staffing, and equipment.
- Assess the training needs of nursing staff and facilitate necessary training sessions.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- A relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- A Post Basic Qualification in Critical Care Nursing Science is mandatory.
- Experience in Cardiac nursing is essential for this position.
- Current registration with the relevant professional or regulatory body.
- A solid understanding of the private healthcare industry, including its challenges and stakeholders, will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in computer skills is required.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and adapt to continuous changes.
- Excellent customer service skills, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
