Application Process:
To apply, you must use the Z83 form, which you can find on any Public Service Department website. Fill it out and include your CV, noting the internship area you’re applying for. Make sure you send in all necessary information and papers by the deadline.

If you don’t send everything required, your application won’t be reviewed. Because we expect many applications, we will only contact those who are selected for the next step. If you’re applying for more than one internship area, you must send a separate Z83 form and all the needed documents to each application address.
You must have completed the required schoolwork for the internship area you’re applying for and must not have worked as a Graduate Intern or contract worker in the Public Service before. All job offers depend on checking your qualifications, work history, citizenship, references, and security clearance.
If you have qualifications from another country, it’s your job to have them checked by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
The Department of Higher Education and Training is calling for applications from suitable candidates for its Graduate Internship and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program for the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 budget years.
This Internship Program aims to give graduates and WIL students work experience in their specific fields of study. Applicants must be South African citizens who are currently unemployed in the Public Sector or have not taken part in any previous Internship program. Please fill out the new Z83 form and include a detailed CV. Past participants of the internship program will not be considered. Note: The DHET values equal opportunity and affirmative action.
