Electrical Engineer Job Overview

As an Electrical Engineer at Air Products, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day electrical maintenance operations and providing essential technical support to the maintenance, operations, and project teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Keep Watch on Maintenance: Make sure electrical machines work well and don’t break down by always watching them and fixing them when needed. Get the most out of repair workers and their helpers by checking what needs fixing first and giving them jobs to do.
  • Planning and Doing: Help with planning to use workers, supplies, and ways of doing things in the best way, so there are fewer problems with making things.
  • Creating Instructions: Write clear, step-by-step instructions for fixing and using all electrical machines to make them safer and work better.
  • Always Getting Better: Lead the way in making things better by using smart ways to keep machines reliable. The goal is to make electrical systems work better and last longer.
  • Helping with Projects: Give technical help to the project team to make sure projects get done right.
  • Stopping Work for Maintenance: Plan and control when the plant stops for repairs. Figure out what will be needed for a long time. Make sure the plant workers and outside workers are organized well. Also, order the things that get used up and spare parts for the machines.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:

  • To qualify, you need a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar approved degree.
  • You must have at least 10 years of experience looking after and running electrical equipment, especially high-voltage motors, switchgear, transformers, and substation upkeep.
  • You should know a lot about electrical engineering rules, protection devices, and how to figure out problems.
  • You need to know how to use predictive maintenance to keep equipment working well.
  • You must be able to speak and write clearly and get along with people at all job levels.
  • You should be good at using MS Office, especially Excel, for paperwork and reports.
  • You need a current driver’s license without any endorsements and your own car.
