Introduction
We are excited to announce an opening for an Enrolled Nurse in the Paediatrics department at Life Anncron Hospital. This position reports to Audrey Kotze, our Unit Manager. As an Enrolled Nurse, your main responsibility will be to perform nursing activities that guarantee excellent care for our young patients.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Ensure Quality Care: Carry out nursing duties that meet the standards for quality patient care, adhering to the regulations set by the South African Nursing Council (SANC), relevant laws, and Life Healthcare’s policies and procedures.
- Promote a Safe Environment: Uphold health, safety, and infection control standards to create a secure environment for all patients.
- Resource Management: Use hospital resources wisely and efficiently, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Equipment Maintenance: Keep medical equipment in good working order, ensuring it is ready for use at all times.
- Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain precise and timely records of patient information and nursing activities.
- Educate Patients: Provide ongoing education to patients and their families about their health and care, helping them understand their treatments and recovery processes.
- Build Relationships: Develop strong relationships with patients, doctors, and other healthcare staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive care environment.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled Nurse Qualification: You must be qualified as an Enrolled Nurse.
- SANC Registration: You need to be registered with the South African Nursing Council.
- Shift Work: You must be willing to work shifts as required by the hospital’s operations.
- Understanding of Healthcare: Familiarity with the private healthcare sector and its challenges is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer usage would be beneficial.
