The SPAR YES4Youth Learnership Programme 2026 offers an exciting opportunity for young South Africans who are passionate about gaining real work experience and building their professional future. SPAR, in partnership with Edupstairs and other YES implementation partners, aims to create meaningful opportunities that help bridge the gap between education and employment.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the 2026 SPAR YES4Youth Learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35.
  • Must have completed Matric / Grade 12.
  • Must be currently unemployed.
  • Must not be enrolled in any full-time studies at the time of application.
  • Must not have previously participated in a YES programme.
  • Must have a clear criminal record.
  • Must be willing and able to commit to a full 12-month contract.
  • Must be able to work in one of the SPAR divisions, depending on placements available in your region.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered, and applicants may be required to attend interviews, assessments, or orientation sessions before final placement.

What You Will Learn:

During the 12-month programme, learners will gain exposure to tasks and responsibilities that may include:

  • Core office tasks.
  • Helping customers.
  • Managing and tracking products.
  • Entering and organizing data.
  • Day-to-day store or storage work.
  • Acting professionally at work.
  • Knowing how SPAR works.
  • Being good at managing time, working with others, and fixing issues.
