We need a Clinic Receptionist for our Northlands branch. This job suits someone who loves helping people, is organized, and enjoys working in a health and retail setting.

Job Summary

The Clinic Receptionist will help patients face-to-face and on the phone, handle appointments, medical paperwork, and clinic records, and keep the front desk running well.

This job needs great organization, a professional attitude, and good communication skills. The right person will pay close attention to details, handle several tasks at once, and focus on excellent patient service.

Main Duties

  1. Patient Sign-in & Appointment Handling

Sign up new and returning patients using Dis-Chem’s rules.

Help patients fill out medical forms, including those for medical aid.

Check and update patient details in the clinic’s computer.

Book, change, and keep track of patient appointments.

Make sure patients move through their appointments without delays.

  1. Medical Aid & Payment Handling

Tell patients about medical aid approval steps and what paperwork they need.

Handle medical aid payments and claims based on clinic rules.

  1. Clinic Paperwork and Organization

Keep patient information correct and private.

Start and change patient files following clinic rules.

Help get and handle medical papers when needed.

Watch and keep track of clinic supplies, paper, and medicine.

  1. Front Desk and Patient Care

Welcome and help patients, visitors, and guests in a polite way.

Give clear and correct info about clinic services and what to expect.

Answer the phone quickly and politely, using good phone manners.

Write down detailed messages, making sure they are right before passing them on.

Keep the waiting area clean, tidy, and private for patients.

Help patients in emergencies, giving advice and telling medical staff when needed.

  1. Talking and Working Together

Work well with nurses, pharmacists, and other clinic workers to give patients the best care.

Give patients helpful answers and check on their questions or worries.

Work with other teams in the clinic to make sure things run smoothly.

QUALIFICATION:

Must Have:

A high school certificate.

Work History:

Past work dealing with customers (like being a receptionist or helper).

It’s good to have worked in a doctor’s office, clinic, or store.

Computer Skills:

Knows how to use computers (Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, and Outlook).

It’s good to know how to handle medical aid claims.

Other Things:

Must be a South African citizen.

Must be able to sit at a desk for a long time.

Must pass a background check (criminal and credit).

Must have a driver’s license or a way to get to work.
