Metro Police and Traffic Overview
The City of Cape Town is happy to share an amazing chance for people who want to work in Road Traffic Law Enforcement. We encourage qualified individuals to apply for our learnership program.
Requirements and Experience Required:
- Have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must not have a criminal history.
- Must possess a current, valid driver’s license.
- Applicants need to know their health and what they can do physically because this job needs great physical shape and mental strength.
- Must not have any tattoos that can be seen while wearing any service uniform.
- Must be at least 18 years old but no older than 35.
Candidates Will Be Required To:
- Pass a written assessment and an interview
- Pass a driver assessment
- Submit their fingerprints and identity numbers for checking criminal records. No other criminal clearances will be acceptable
- Undergo a City medical evaluation
- Undergo a compulsory drug test at a City testing
Candidates will be subject to the code of Conduct of the Public Safety Training College, as well as the pass requirements stipulated by the College and in line with relevant unit standards
