Introduction

Life Cosmos Hospital in Mpumalanga is excited to announce a job opening for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary in our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). The chosen candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients while adhering to the strategic objectives of the hospital and relevant health regulations. This position involves working closely with a dedicated team to ensure that all patients receive the best possible nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

As an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary in the SICU, your main duties will include:

1. Delivering High-Quality Nursing Care

• Provide compassionate and effective nursing care to patients, following your Scope of Practice.
• Work collaboratively with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure all patient needs are met.

2. Building Professional Relationships

• Maintain positive and professional relationships with patients, families, and the entire multi-disciplinary team.
• Ensure that all interactions focus on customer satisfaction and positive patient experiences.

3. Adhering to Safety and Health Standards

• Follow all Health, Safety, and Infection Control policies to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
• Participate actively in quality improvement programs and mandatory training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

4. Understanding Infection Control Practices

• Understand and comply with the company’s infection control protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ensure that safety measures are strictly adhered to at all times to minimize risks.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Must be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience is required, with at least some time spent in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
• Skills:
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Good planning and organizational abilities to manage workloads efficiently.
• Resilience and the ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
• A strong customer service orientation to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
