Overview

Life Cosmos Hospital in Mpumalanga is looking for a dedicated Enrolled Nurse to join our MICU Section B team. In this role, you will report directly to the Unit Manager, Tretia Mlilo. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that our nursing team operates smoothly and that there is effective communication between doctors and nursing staff. Your role will involve maintaining accurate records and facilitating interdepartmental collaboration to enhance patient care.


Key Responsibilities

Basic Duties

  • Carry out basic nursing tasks as assigned by your supervisors and the nursing team.
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients based on your professional scope of practice.

Patient Care

  • Ensure that all patients receive attentive and compassionate care at all times.
  • Build and maintain positive professional relationships with patients, doctors, and other members of the healthcare team to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Strive for high levels of customer satisfaction by being responsive to the needs of patients and their families.

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, and Infection Control policies to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
  • Supervise junior nursing staff, offering guidance and support when necessary to promote their professional development.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • SANC Registration: Must be registered with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is essential for this role.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for effective communication with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Planning and Organization: Ability to plan and organize work efficiently to ensure that patient care is delivered effectively.
  • Resilience: Must be able to manage stress and maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours as required by the unit’s needs.
