Introduction
We are excited to announce an open position for a Night Quality Coordinator at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital. This role reports directly to Carina Griessel, our Senior Nurse Manager. The Night Quality Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality patient care during the night shift, aligning with our hospital’s goals for quality service, growth, and a focus on people. The right candidate will be a dedicated professional committed to improving patient outcomes and fostering a positive work environment for our night staff.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management

  • Support and Coaching: You will actively communicate with and support our night staff, helping them to maintain a safe and effective environment for both patients and staff.
  • Monitoring Competence: It’s important to identify clinical competencies among staff members. If any concerns arise, you will address these promptly with the line manager to ensure high standards of care.
  • Leading Quality Initiatives: You will take part in and lead various quality improvement projects that help build a strong culture of quality within our hospital.

2. Operations Management

  • Staff Allocations: You will ensure that staff members are adequately assigned based on the night shift requirements to maintain efficient operations.
  • Stock Management: A good understanding of stock management processes will be essential to help achieve the targets set for your unit.
  • Crisis Management: You will need to effectively manage unexpected events to ensure that resources are used optimally, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care.
  • Motivating the Team: Providing direction and inspiration is key to maintaining a motivated and productive staff team during night shifts.

3. Building Relationships

  • Leadership Presence: You will demonstrate visible leadership among the night staff and management, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Participating in relevant meetings will help you build productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, contributing to a cohesive working environment.

Requirements

  • A Degree or Diploma in Nursing is essential.
  • You must be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
  • Previous management experience is highly advantageous, showcasing your leadership capabilities.
  • A proven track record of strong leadership skills.
